Put some Northumberland Unison colour into your life.
Having a creative outlet in your life is paramount to leading a stressless life and a sense of worth. We are creative beings and creativity sits on the top of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. But finding that outlet that fits your lifestyle and fulfils those needs is just the start. Unison Colour believe whether you are a seasoned artist or a simply a beginner you should enjoy your art.
John Hersey began Unison Colour in the early 1980’s when he was unhappy with mass manufactured colour pastels as they kept breaking, were not constant in colour nor did they match his colour vision. So he began years of experimenting making his own soft pastels. In 1987 he took these new pastels to an art fair in London and were immediately loved by both art buyers and artists. The soft, highly pigmented pastels are wonderfully smooth and offer consistent texture, they can be both vibrant and subtle in shade to create your own little masterpieces. And are known throughout the art world as probably the best soft pastels you can buy.
All of Unison Colour Pastels are still handmade in the coach house, set in the Northumberland National Park. Where a quarter of a million a produced with dedication and love. Their colours are influenced by the breathtaking scenery of fells, forests and rivers that surround Thorneyburn Rectory.
Unison Colour is full of Northern soul, for your creative soul.
