Ticking Stripe Maritime Overshirt

The Ticking Stripe Maritime Overshirt is a substantial overshirt with a Peter Pan style collar. In the 1930's Yarmouth Stores carried a range of ‘singlets and shirts’ from the 'Cruising Shirt, the Sports Shirt and the Tunic Shirt in latest designs'. The Maritime Shirt takes inspiration from the original Flannel Army Shirts featured in the 1930 catalogue.

The styling references the heavy sailor’s shirts that were historically worn layered for warmth as protection from the bracing North Sea winds. It has two generous buttoned chest pockets, and two vertical side hip pockets. The collar is a neat rounded shape. The overshirts feature black corozo buttons which contrast beautifully on the classic ticking stripe twill. There are four stitched under arm eyelets for ventilation.

100% Cotton - wash with similar colours on a general cotton wash.
